Compete
My two oldest children were in a karate tournament this past weekend. It was our first tournament and quite an eye opener. Â It was far less organized than I expected, not necessarily in a bad way, but less structured in format than I thought it would be. There were 20 or so stations where, simultaneously, competitors sparred and exhibited their “form”, in between all the stations was a no-man’s-land of people milling and bumping vying to get the best view of a stations event. It was a lot of fun. There are a LOT of young 10-and-under black belts out there! If they ever organize, adults beware!
Below is a slideshow of some images and audio I took at the meet. I’d recommend following the link to Youtube and watching the HD version.
Oh yeah, my son recently made his yellow belt and my daughter her orange decided (orange with black stripe).

I like it, Matthew. Nice job telling the story here. Congrats to your kids as well.
Thanks Mark. They had fun.
Nice! Just curious, what did you used to record the sound?
I used my iPhone and Apple’s stock Voice Memo app. Such a versatile tool!
